Getting Started
UniCrush is exclusively for university students. You must be enrolled at an accredited university and have a valid university email address to sign up. We support over 120 universities across the UK, with more being added regularly.
Is UniCrush free to use?+
Yes — UniCrush has a genuinely free tier that includes daily swipes, full messaging features (text, voice notes, photos), and university verification. Premium plans unlock unlimited swipes, the ability to see who liked you, Super Likes, and more.
How do I verify my university?+
During signup, enter your university email address (e.g. you@kcl.ac.uk). We'll send a 6-digit verification code to that address. Enter the code and your profile will be marked as university-verified. Your email is never visible to other users.
My university isn't listed. What can I do?+
We're adding universities all the time. You can
submit a request to add your institution and we'll prioritise it. In the meantime, if you can provide proof of enrollment, our team may be able to manually verify your account.
Matching & Messages
How does the compatibility score work?+
The compatibility score is calculated using shared interests, lifestyle indicators, your degree subject, activity on campus, and engagement patterns. The algorithm improves as it learns from your behaviour — the more you interact with the app, the more accurate it becomes.
Can I send photos and voice notes in chat?+
Yes. All users — free and Premium — can send text messages, voice notes, photos from their gallery, and live photos in chat. There are no messaging restrictions on the free tier.
Why did a match disappear?+
If a match disappears, it usually means the other person has deleted their account, unmatched you, or been removed from the platform. Unfortunately, we're unable to restore matches that were ended by the other party.
Subscription & Billing
How do I cancel my subscription?+
Go to Profile → Settings → Subscription → Cancel Plan. Your Premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. We offer no partial refunds for unused time unless you qualify for our 30-day guarantee.
What is the 30-day guarantee?+
If you purchase Premium and don't match with anyone in your first 30 days, we'll refund you in full — no questions asked. Simply
contact our support team with your account email and purchase date.
Is there a student discount?+
Yes. Our longer billing plans are already discounted compared to monthly billing (save up to 50% on the yearly plan). We also offer additional discounts periodically through university partnerships — check with your student union for any active codes.
Privacy & Safety
Is my data sold to advertisers?+
Never. UniCrush earns revenue exclusively through subscriptions. We have no advertising partners and we do not sell, share, or broker your personal data to any third parties. You can read our full privacy policy for complete details.
How do I report someone?+
Open the profile or conversation, tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner, and select "Report". Choose a reason and add any context. Our safety team reviews every report within 24 hours. Serious cases are escalated immediately.
